Frequently asked questions

Here are some of the most common questions we get from new learners about Wolverhampton driving lessons.

Do I need to pass my theory test before I start lessons?

Not at all! You can start your driving lessons as soon as you have a valid provisional driving licence. You’ll need to pass your theory test before you can book your practical driving test, though

To start your lessons, you must be at least 17 years old and hold a valid provisional driving licence

Unfortunately, we don’t offer a ‘test day only’ service for new students. We need to assess your driving ability and ensure you are at a safe and confident standard before we can take you to your test. We recommend you book a few lessons with us beforehand so we can get you fully prepared.

We’re happy to have a parent or supervising driver sit in with us for progress updates, as long as it’s arranged beforehand. Simply chat with your instructor about it when you book!

We can help and guide you through the process, but all tests must be booked and paid for by the student on the official gov.uk website.

The DVSA recommends around 45 hours of professional lessons, plus about 20 hours of private practice. Everyone learns at a different pace, so this number can vary.

Absolutely. Our instructors specialise in helping nervous and anxious learners. We create a calm and supportive environment and will never pressure you.

We have a 48-hour cancellation policy. As long as you give us at least 48 hours’ notice, there’s no fee. You can find our full terms and conditions on our website.
